How Do I Apply Moisturiser to Oily Skin?

Every day dirt, makeup and excess oils can build up on the surface of your skin, clogging pores and leaving your skin looking overly shiny. A good face mask will draw out the buildup of impurities, reduce the appearance of excess shine and refresh your skin.

Three times a week, apply an even layer of face mask to clean, dry skin, leave it on for 10-15 minutes, then rinse off thoroughly with lukewarm water. After you’ve cleansed your complexion, don’t completely dry off your face. That’s because the best time to apply moisturiser is when skin is still damp, as this can help lock in hydration.

You don't want to avoid using a cream; when you cleanse oily skin and don’t apply moisturiser afterwards, it can lead to a loss of moisture and in turn an increase in oil production... meaning you could end up with skin that looks even greasier! Of course, how you moisturise oily skin will be different from how you moisturise dry skin. You'll need to look for a product that offers lightweight hydration and is oil-free.
